What to write so AI knows who you fit
"Designer. Figma, UX, UI." Thousands of profiles say exactly this, and an AI reading them has nothing to choose by.
A profile that gets requests reads like a person talking.
Say what you actually do
Name the tasks and one or two results. "I design onboarding for fintech apps, last one cut drop-off from 40% to 22%" gives the AI something to match against.
Skills still matter. Put them in the skills field, and use the text to show what you do with them.
Say how you like to work
This is where Folkso differs from a job board. Write whether you prefer calls or writing, a clear brief or figuring it out together.
A seeker who works the same way will get you as a match, and the one who doesn't will get someone better for them.
Say what you are open to
Paid work, orders, a startup for equity, a passion project, teaching others, meeting people nearby. Pick every option that is true, and only those.
Add your rate and when you can start. People filter by these, and an honest "from $40 an hour, remote, from next week" saves everyone a message.
An example
I illustrate children's books and board games in watercolour and ink. Eight published books, two card games. I like a written brief and one call at the start, then short check-ins in chat. Open to paid projects and to a passion project if the story is good. From $600 per book cover, remote, based in Lisbon.
Keep it fresh
Update your status when you get busy or free up. A profile that says "available" and isn't wastes a request on both sides.
